The Staff Accountant supports the Division Accounting group by preparing and booking general ledger journal entries, reconciling GL accounts and researching and analyzing transactions. The senior status of this position is distinguished by intermediate level accounting experience.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS / PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Other duties may be assigned. A teammate in this position must have the ability to:
  • Prepare and book general ledger journal entries.
  • Reconcile GL accounts and make adjustments as required.
  • Maintain records and files of financial information.
  • Assist in variance analysis and other financial reporting.
  • Facilitate various jurisdictional audit and information requests.
  • Prepare and file state, local and other jurisdictional tax returns and reports.
  • Review and analyze various internal tax reports.
  • Review and ensure compliance with tax regulations.
  • Assist in meeting physical security and internal control objectives of tax indicia and taxable product.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
A teammate in this position must:
  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • Possess 2 or more years of accounting experience.
  • Have strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Have Oracle E-Business Suite experience preferred.
  • Possess strong analytical skills.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have the ability to organize, forecast and meet deadlines.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Office environment.
  • Interaction with cigarette stamping and inventory control in a distribution center environment.
