The Payroll Specialist - Corporate is responsible for ensuring payroll is processed correctly for their assigned divisions; verifying all payroll interfaces are balanced for each payroll cycle; producing off cycle checks as required; and providing documentation and training for their assigned divisions' accounting payroll clerks and driver payroll clerks as required.

What you'll do as a Payroll Specialist - Corporate:
  • Process, balance, and validate payroll for assigned divisions during each payroll cycle.
  • Review payroll interface files, data validation queries, and reports to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Conduct routine payroll audits and research discrepancies.
  • Set up and maintain garnishment orders and wage assignments from federal, state, and local agencies.
  • Provide first-level troubleshooting and support for payroll, timekeeping, and HR systems.
  • Assist divisions with payroll questions and provide guidance on payroll procedures, Workday processes, and related systems.
  • Develop and deliver training for Payroll Clerks and Driver Payroll Clerks as needed.
  • Serve as a backup payroll resource during unexpected staffing shortages at division locations.
  • Maintain compliance with wage and employment laws, payroll regulations, and company policies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve payroll issues and improve processes.

    Qualifications you'll bring as a Payroll Specialist - Corporate:
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Two or more years of payroll experience required.
  • Experience with Workday or other HRIS/payroll systems preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Working knowledge of payroll processes, wage and employment laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify discrepancies, and resolve issues accurately and efficiently.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Self-motivated problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multitask, adapt to changing priorities, and take ownership of results.
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English sufficiently to perform job-related duties safely and effectively.
